The word Iguaçu means “large water” in the Tupi-Guarani etymology. Eighteen kilometers before joining the Parana River, the Iguaçu River gains width and then plunges 80 meters down. Its geographical formation dates from about 150 million years.

The total width of the waterfall in the Brazilian territory is approximately 800 meters.  There are 19 main falls in total, 5 of them are on the Brazilian side (Floriano, Deodoro, Benjamin Constant, Santa Maria and União). From the Brazilian balconies you have a stunning panoramic view of the whole.

This visit can be combined with the Birds Park and the Itaipu Dam.

 Approx. duration: 4 hours
